A granite heart will be placed on the grave of the nameless boy whose body was found on 19 March in the pond in Cieszyn-Gułdowy.
The tomb will be made free of charge by a Cieszyn stonemason Jan Wizner. The material was given by a wholesaler for free. There are a few foundations which could deal with collecting money for it, but none of them wanted to do it. Therefore, the initiative of raising a tomb came from the Cieszyn stonemasons. Granmar stone company owned by Jan Wizner is located near the municipal cemetery and has been working since 1993. The company owner had no doubts that he should help. It could not be the other way. There should not be just a grave with a cross. If it was not me, somebody else would do it, I do not think of it as something great, says the stonemason. I am not the only one who takes part in it. I got a slab from a wholesaler. I wanted to buy it but he said he had heard about this boy and he would not take any money for it. The cost of such a tomb is 1,300 zlotys (325 euro).
At first, the residents of Cieszyn, moved by the tragic death of a nameless boy wanted to buy the tomb. As it turned out, however, the law in such cases does not allow for collecting money or for funding a tomb by private persons.
