Warsaw is going to have a unique place that combines post-industrial architecture and special features. The building process of the exhibition centre in the area of former FSO (Passenger Automobile Factory) at Modlińska street began in June 2017. This complex has been designed by Tremend design studio. According to the concept of the architects, the new building will maintain the character of storage halls from 1970s. This effect will be achieved by leaving the old building's elements related to its functionality like cranes, a railway or a 4-tonne cargo elevator.
Here we are speaking about the complex of buildings since as many as 27,000 m2 out of 60,000 m2 of the total floor space will be taken, according to the investor's concept, by a permanent all year long construction and decoration exhibition. We have found out that companies that deal with stone projects are already interested in this show room. Economic success of this business, however, is to be guaranteed not only by technical and architectural solutions. There are plans to build a hotel with 160 rooms as well. They are going to be made in post-industrial style, but some projects which include the use of stone may also be accepted (especially in common areas like halls, restaurants or staircases). Let us add that GlobalExpo is responsible for the construction works and the whole project is managed by Centrum Targowo-Kongresowe (former MT Polska) which has been running the exhibition centre at Mars street for years.
