Alisa Craig Island, situated close to the coasts of Scotland, is still waiting to be bought. After paying 2.4 million dollars the potential buyer will get a piece of land with a lighthouse and a granite mine.
The raw material which is quarried there was once used to build the cathedral in Edinburgh. Alisa Craig is situated on the Irish Sea in the Firth of Clyde. The island, which came into existence as a result of volcanic activity about 500 million years ago, belongs to Scotland.
The island was inhabited by 29 people a hundred years ago. Now the only creatures residing there are birds. The other attraction is a lighthouse, which was built in 1886. A new owner, apart from beautiful views, will inherit an interesting deposit of stone. This raw material was used not only in construction industry, but also in sport: 70 per cent of curling rocks in the world are made of Creag Alasdalr – Alasandra Rocks.
