The repairs in Ostrogski Castle has been in progress since 2005. The castle, according to the decision made by the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute, was being prepared to become a Chopin museum. The museum exhibition honours the occasion of the Chopin year - marking the 200th anniversary of the celebrated composer. Since 6 April it has been made possible to visit the interior and the exhibition in the castle. The stone repair works were conducted by Pamir company from Warsaw.
- We are honoured that we were given the chance to do the works to commemorate the great Polish composer, says Paweł Bereza, the president of Pamir company, which as early as in 1995 presented the organisers of the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdrój Chopin's bust. Paweł Bereza was a member of the Festival Foundation Board at that time.
The stone works started in autumn 2009. Three types of stones were chosen: Kashmir White glazed for floors and stairs, Absolut Black for the "carpet" on 1 level and black granite Star Galaxy for the tops in the museum bathrooms. 450 square metres of stone was used altogether. Stone works on external elevation were conducted by Ciałbud company owned by Wiesław Ciałkowski.
