The appraisal of projects concerning the EU funds for companies is coming to an end right now. Stonemasons from Lower Silesia will get nearly 9,5 million PLN whereas those from Swietokrzyskie province will get 5,3 million PLN. The leaders of EU grants in Lower Silesia are Globgranit II Marek Sadek (grants of more than 2,6 million PLN) and Fart Engineering Company Ltd. (3,9 million PLN) in Swietokrzyskie province. Grants were also received by such companies as (among others) Sjenitex, Wromac, Marmur-Plytki Jacek Lata, Promasz and ZK Przywala.
Since February the number of staff of the marble mine in Slawniowice (Nysa district) has decreased by 6 people (56 people work there).

Another important Italian stone company is just entering Polish market. Marmi Rosa, with its headquarters in Rivoli Veronese near Verona, has been on the market for 30 years. So far it has been cooperating with Germany, Austria and many other countries from the whole world. Now it is expanding its activity into France, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus and Estonia. In Poland the company has not had its office yet. It has, however, its warehouse in Dessau, near Berlin.

An old, evangelical cemetery near Kusowo, near which the ring road will be built, will be preserved, well-marked and put back in order. The officials from Słupsk Commune made a decision concerning the cemetery together with the authorities of Leśny Dwór Forest District, who are the owners of the area and with the contractor of the ring road. On the website www.cmentarze-slupsk.republika.pl, we can find information that this is the evangelical cemetery which belonged to Ritzow village. In 1949 the village became a part of Słupsk.
Five companies are competing of Aleje Ujazdowskie |
Five companies are competing in a tender concerning the change of Aleje Ujazdowskie (Ujazdowskie Avenue) pavement. The subject of the tender is laying the pavement made of granite setts and the arrangement of small architecture elements. Adrog company from Warsaw has the biggest chance to win - the company is ready to do the modernisation for a little more than 18 million PLN.

The tomb of Marek Hlasko, a Polish writer, which can be found on Powazki cemetery (Warsaw) is in a very bad condition. The writer's friends, Hanna and Jerzy Press, are trying to make the media and local authorities get interested in the state of the tomb. The inscription (made by a famous Polish actor Jan Himilsbach who worked on Powazki cemetery as a stone mason) which says: "He didn't live long and all were against" can be hardly seen on the tomb.

Slupsk authorities decided to move the sculpture by Fritz Klimsch entitled Upokorzony (The Humbled) from Pierwsi Slupszczanie Square to the Podkowa shopping centre. Due to the fact that the sculpture is in a very bad condition it must be transported with a maximum care in order not to damage it, says the mayor's spokesman. Before the transport the sculpture is going to be unfixed from the socle. The highly-qualified stone mason will do it. The sculpture is a well-known symbol of the town. Some call the humbled man the statue of an endorser since he is naked, barefooted and his bottom is directed towards the bank, say the older residents of the town.
8 mm slabs |
Last year during the Marmomacc fair Cereser Marmi company introduced their new product: 8 mm slabs. The obtainment process starts with cutting off the 1 cm slabs which then undergoes the process of calibration in order to reach the thickness of 8 mm. The slabs are also reinforced with the carbon fibre mesh. Inititally, there were only 2 materials available: Kashmire White and Bianco Sardo. Due to the growing interest in these slabs the list of materials has been made longer.

Euro-Granit Adamus company has just opened a new trade office in Wroclaw. The office is situated in Bielany Wrocławskie, 1 Polna street. The company is also planning to open their office in Opole, Wroclawska street. The opening is scheduled for March this year. The company wants to meet the customer's demands and provide orders for group partners. Both offices in Wroclaw and in Opole should contribute to the increase of the number of orders which, in turn, will provide work for partner companies.
This year we will have three stone exhibitions: in Kielce, Poznan and Wroclaw.
