The results of the competition organised by the Municipal Road Authority in Poznań and the Polish Architects Association were announced in late December.
The winning project by Jacek Szewczyk is not revolutionary, but it organises the streetscape of Taczak street. The reconstruction will include creating two zones which will have a different surface from the rest. The road will be covered with small granite cubes, whereas the pavement will consist of wider, light grey rectangular slabs. The route, to some extent, will change into a pedestrian area. There will be more green and newly designed parking lots. The reconstruction, depending on how much work will be actually done, will cost from 4 to 10 million zlotys (ca. 1 – 2.5 million euros).
