A MYSTERIOUS TOMB HAS BEEN FOUND

grobowiecA huge marble tomb has been found in Greece. The Discovery was made near an ancient Amphipolis, about 500 kilometres north from Athens. The tomb’s dimensions are huge: 500 metres long and 3 metres high.

The tomb was made of high quality marble blocks. The archaeologists who took part in the Discovery are certain that this tomb belonged to someone important. They suppose that it might be the tombs of a legendary ruler – Alexander the Great. Further examinations carried out by the scientists will prove if it is really so. The historians are sure that also the mystery of the death of this courageous leader may be solved this way. Alexander the Great died sudden death in Babylon and his final resting place is one of the greatest mysteries of archaeology.

For hundreds of years scientists (and not only they) have been trying in vain to locate the resting place of the famous Macedonian. Only the Organisation of Ancient Egypt officially admitted to more than 140 expeditions in search of Alexander’s tomb. Alexander the Macedonian, also known as Alexander the Great, was born in Pella in 356 BC. Greek experts say that the tomb they found comes from the time when Alexander ruled, that is from 4th century BC.
