Salon Kamienia (the Stone Exhibition) in Kielce finished on 7 April. It was held at the same time as the Fair Dom (Housing Exhibition), Ogród i Ty (Garden Fair). We cannot, however, speak about a success of this event. The stone branch was represented by just few companies, for example Promasz, Śląskie Kruszywa Naturalne, Przedsiębiorstwo Przerobu Kamienia Budowlanego “Prodmar” from Suków, Zakład Kamieniarski “Przywała” from Chęciny and Marmor Ewelina Kos. The representatives of funeral branch and stone tools manufacturers were absent. There were also no foreign exhibitors.
– The customers were not interested in machines for stone so we decided not to attend this event next time – said the representatives of Promasz. The stand of Marmor Ewelina Kos attracted a lot of visitors. The company presented self-supporting marble stairs in Thumm system. The innovative solution used in producing the stairs was also appreciated by the jury which awarded Marmor a special distinction of Targi Kielce. Many customers could be seen around the stands with goods related to finishing works. Salon Kamienia is not a place for stonemasons, but rather for retail customers who are looking for stairs, window sills, table tops or other goods made of natural stone.
– It was not a stone fair. The stone industry exhibitors were not together, but they could be found among the manufacturers of building products, window frames, or finishing equipment – says Krzysztof Mróz, the co-owner of the company which supplies stone plants Wena-Prod Kielce.
A small number of exhibitors may mean that the stone fair in Kielce is history now.
