The works related to bringing back the original look of the nature reserve are over now. The reserve includes rock monadnocks made of coarse Ciężkowice sandstone.
In the past the there were no trees at the top of the hill and monadnocks were standing out. As a result of changes taking place in the development of this area, the rocks became covered with various types of trees. The works included removing 115 trees which had covered rocks. Almost half of them were cut with the use of alpine climbing techniques. The works took two weeks and cost 25,000 zlotys (ca. 6,250 euro). They were sponsored by the Regional Directorate of Environmental Protection. Similar actions were conducted in the reserve 15 years ago. We should not treat them as interference with nature because in this case we are dealing with rock outcrops, not the forest ecosystem. It is worth to mention that Prządki reserve is very popular among tourists. At weekends this reserve is visited by, on average, 400-500 people. Prządki reserve is situated between Czarnorzeki and Korczyna near Krosno and covers an area of over 16 hectares. The reserve got its name from a legend. According to it, the rocks are girls who turned into stones because of spinning flax at Easter time.
