The monument will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Hill 262. The monument will be raised in Falaise region, where Polish troops fought one of their most famous battles. In August 1944 heroic attitude of General Maczek’s soldiers allowed for surrounding two German armies in Normandy and, as a result, beating 7 Wehrmacht divisions in the so-called Falaise Pocket.
